Artist’s Statement

Change, both monumental and minimal, shapes our lives and the natural world around us. My work revolves around capturing these moments of transformation, emphasizing the details and patterns within them, and preserving change within a single moment.

Printmaking is a medium in which changes can be easily made between individual prints, and through exploration and repetition, I explore what variations can be made within my artwork. The natural world has always fascinated me with its constant, unpredictable change, and my prints reflect and embrace those changes. It is a medium that allows for control over minute differences, the opposite of the natural world.

As someone who has struggled with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), change and its inevitability both fascinate and terrify me. I find stability in the patterns and details around me, and my work explores subjects caught in a single, transformative moment, highlighting the subtle transitions and intricate features within them.
